Local Rocket Football Headed to Ford Field

Reed City Youth Rocket Football is heading to Detroit to play at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions.

The opportunity presented itself but required a minimum ticket purchase to secure the kids a spot. With the help of parents, the community, and a donation of 10 tickets from the Wolfy Memorial Tournament, the kids exceeded their fund raising goal. They will play their game September 18th, 2022.

-Dan Wolfram

Daniel Raymond Wolfram was a loving father, son, brother, friend, coach, teammate, and an amazing ball player. He loved his community and donated many years to coaching youth sports. He coached softball at Montabella High for over 10 years, even taking the team to the state championships in 2003.

In 2017, along with some of his best teammates, Dan won the 55+ LVSSA/SSUSA World Master Championships in Las Vegas, earning him the nickname ‘The Big Cat,’ and named to the All-Tournament Team. Dan again played with TMS Michigan during the 2018 season as the team moved up to 55+ Major. He An integral part of the team’s success, he helped guide the team to runner-up finishes at both the ISA Senior World Series and Northern Championships.

Dan thought community sports were extremely important so he frequently donated his time, energy, and knowledge to helping continue their success. It’s this passion that inspired the Wolfy Memorial Tournament – to continue to play the game in which we love, and to provide funding for future generations to continue the tradition.
